Bollywood or Hindi language film industry is the largest film producing in terms of number of movies produced and number of people employed in the industry. When we compare Hollywood with Bollywood, Bollywood movie production surpasses Hollywood movie production and in terms of movie tickets sold also Bollywood is ahead of Hollywood. The golden age of Hindi Cinema 1940 to 1960 contributed many classical movies like Pyaasa, Kaagaz Ke Phool, Awaara, Shree, Aan, Mother India, etc. During late 1960 and early 1970, romance and action movies took the centre of attraction. Unlike other film industries in India, Bollywood is one of the largest film producers in both India as well as in the whole world. Bollywood movies are very famous worldwide having more than 3.5 Billion fans all over the world. Hindi Cinema is so popular because of the quality of the movies, originality in story plots and its varieties. It is also the one of the film industries in India which employs more number of people and also the best profitable Cinema industry which produces more than 1000 films per year. Also nowadays, “Hindi Cinema” is gaining more popularity among world fans because of the reality based stories which are not melodramatic and over emotional. History of Hindi Cinema: The History of Hindi Cinema dates back to several years ahead when it started producing full featured Hindi films. The first Hindi feature film was produced and released during the year 1913 and only by 1930, Hindi Cinema found a permanent plot in Indian film industry making more than 200 movies per year. Later, on 1950’s full featured color films were released and created a big sensation among Hindi fans due to its sentimental and melodramatic plots of stories. Later, Hindi Cinema industry started to produce variety of movies with different story plots such as romantic, family sentiments, action, Thrillers and comedy. Also, background music of the films and Hindi songs became very popular among all language audiences and that is also one of the main reasons for the success of Hindi Film Industry. Hindi Cinema at present: Right from the beginning of 19th century Hindi Cinema has started to produce full featured films based on different story lines and different plots of concepts. Now, at present Hindi Cinema which has successfully celebrated its 100 years of excellence has started producing high quality movies that are very close to the real life. Hindi Cinema has produced different varieties of movies such as full silent feature films, cinemascope movies, Indian English movies, 70 MM movies and the latest technology 3D movies. At present, Bollywood is one of the very successful film industries in the whole world which achieves wider box-office hits in both India as well as abroad. Hindi movies are one of the most awaited movies with huge number of fan followers all around the world especially in UAE, USA, UK, Singapore and Malaysia. Thus, Bollywood can be otherwise called as one of the most prolific film industry which has its own stardom actors, landmark directors, heavily investing producers and highly intelligent technicians to produce a most worthy film without bothering about the actual cost of the film.
